The Heist of the Century
About

About this project

Mission, method, corrections policy, and how to contribute.

Mission

This platform is the documented public record of the theft of Iraq's tax trust deposits — the "Heist of the Century." It exists to preserve the truth of what happened, to serve the public, journalists and researchers with verified, sourced material, and to correct the misinformation produced to obscure the crime and defame those who exposed it.

Method

Every statement on this site carries one of five labels:

  • DocumentedAn official document or record, linked.
  • TestimonyA firsthand account, attributed by role.
  • Press recordPublished reporting, linked.
  • Investigative assessmentA conclusion drawn from the evidence, marked as such.
  • Unverified allegationPublic claims that no document or finding substantiates.

Individuals never finally convicted are described through their documented acts, with "alleged" where charges exist. The narrator is an objective third party. The researcher who investigated the theft and produced the 10 October 2022 report appears throughout only as the advisor to the finance minister.

Corrections

We correct errors publicly and date every change. If you believe anything here is wrong, use the contact form and include your evidence; we will engage with it seriously.

Contribute

If you hold documents or firsthand knowledge, the contact channel protects sources without exception.

A note on hope

This record is maintained so that when honest prosecution becomes possible, the file is ready — organised, sourced, and waiting.
